UFO sightings trigger speculation about aliens; WikiLeaks’ secret UFO files may be covered-up

Are aliens around? Internet is set abuzz with the latest posts and videos of UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) sightings in Jerusalem; and the military, scientists and people in a few countries where reports of UFO sightings have been occurring for over 60 years, are caught puzzled once again.

While many people claim to have seen aliens (supposedly extraterrestrial beings) coming out of a “UFO craft” after it crashed into Lake Bala that caused the Berwyn Mountain incident on January 23 1974, scientists explained it away as a case of meteor sighting. In the Berwyn Mountain incident, unusual lights in sky accompanied by an earthquake and a blowing sound was reportedly heard. But, police, military and the governments covered up the incidents, say UFO enthusiasts. Eyewitnesses, however, say, alien bodies were taken away by the military, according to a report in Sun.

Russ Kellett, a UFO specialist, insists that an eyewitness of the incident saw aliens emerging from crashed ship. “They were slim humanoid creatures, about five ft six inches tall, with grey skin and wore jumpsuits with belt kits on them,” he was quoted as saying by North Wales Chronicle.

Similar incident known as Roswell UFO sighting in New Mexico in July 1947 triggered intense curiosity worldwide about aliens. It was controversial as allegedly some debris was found purported to be of an alien spacecraft, which the United States military again tried to cover up.

What reminds us of the “UFO Legends”?

The issue refuses to die down. The latest UFO sightings in January end are reported from the Holy Land, Jerusalem on January 28, at 1 a.m., over Mount Zion and the Dome of the Rock/Temple Mount.

According to the witnesses, a large oval-shaped UFO descended almost to the ground level over the Dome of the Rock/Temple Mount area, hovered there for a short while, flashed lights into surrounding buildings, and then shot upward at an incredible speed.

Videos of sightings are streaming up on YouTube, TV and on the Web, though scientists claim them to be fake.

The other places that reported sightings around the same time include Utah in US. India’s Kolkata also reported a glowing object falling fast on January 26, when 4-5 pilots of different airlines saw it, triggering speculation about UFOs, said a report in Deccan Herald.

Meanwhile, the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) in Davenport, Washington that investigates UFO sightings and also records all reported sightings by people worldwide, has received roughly 344 sighting reports between January 5 and January 31, and over 30,000 reports in the past 15 years, NUFORC said on its official site.

UFO tourism

NUFORC’s figures of UFO sightings seem unbelievable - it is difficult to accept that these many extraterrestrial lives descended on or crossed through the earth’s atmosphere. As outer space has always triggered man's fancy and poked humans to unravel mysteries of the cosmos, UFO tourism or UFO sighting spots are increasingly vying for tourists’ attention.

Popular places that are banking upon UFO tales to attract travelers and science enthusiasts include Roswell in New Mexico, Oregon coast in US, Wiltshire in UK, Scotland, Brazil and numerous other places in the United States.

New Religious Tone to UFOs

While the much ado about UFOs is giving birth to “UFO travel destinations”, an unprecedented number of sightings across the globe is also making people skeptic about extraterrestrial life. Many people in Jerusalem hold a religious perspective on the latest sightings over the Dome of the Rock/Temple Mount area.

“This UFO sighting is much more than just a light in the sky; it's a reminder to the Jewish people that their Creators are waiting for them to finally stop fighting and focus instead on their original mission - which is to welcome the Elohim (God) in the Third Temple," Leon Mellul, leader of the Raelian Movement of Israel, said in a statement.

WikiLeaks revelations

Last month, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange told British daily The Guardian that WikiLeaks has secret UFO files obtained from both the U.S. and other foreign government sources containing many details about UFOs and extraterrestrials.

However, the confidential UFO files, which Assange said will be released soon, would probably never come to light due to security issues pointed out by the United Nations recently.
